Facebook guide

Welcome to My New Facebook Blog

Introduction
I have been asked to create a Non-Technical document in the form of a user guide explaining how to use Facebook for the sales staff at Real Solution. I will describe how to use Facebook and to make it even better to understand I will add screenshots as a visual representation.

What is Facebook?
Facebook is an American online social media and social networking website that first began in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg along with Edwards Saverin. It is user-friendly and is open to everyone, and even the least technical minded should be able to sign up and get started on it.

What is Facebook used for?
• Facebook gives you the chance to maintain a friend list and choose privacy settings that you are comfortable with.
• It gives you the chance to upload photos and keep photo albums whom you can share with.
• You are able to interact with friends by commenting on their profile or chat to keep in touch with each other.
• Facebook supports fan pages, group pages, and business pages to promote their business for social media marketing.
• One fun feature of Facebook is you can do a live video allowing people to join and you can chat live, this is done through ‘Facebook live’.
Who uses Facebook?
Wide ranging, 25 to 34 year olds made up the statistical group of Facebook users in the United States, and as January in a whole there were 58.3 million U.S, it is used by wide range of ages though. Gender wise it leans more towards the female user base with 54% being women and 46% men. Facebook is used all around the world, an estimate of 89% monthly active users living outside of US and Canada. Also because of its diverse platform and rank, it is highly easy for a user to find an audience whoever they are.
How effective is it?
• 80% of internet users use Facebook and check up on their Facebook page regularly throughout the day. This is an advantage for those who are marketing on it as there is no worry if there isn’t customers.
• Facebooks main use is advertisement and its ability on it is high and successful for users who do advertise. Main ways to advertise to people is by looking at their age, interest, behaviour, and location.
• Another major benefit of Facebook and its effectiveness is that it’s the cheapest forms of advertisement, it’s so cheap that you could spend 5$ and reach 1,000 people… why spend so much in other places when you can spend so little on Facebook and reach so much people.

Advantages of Facebook
• High user base, 1.19 billion users.
• Reaching a specific audience, this is highly useful for those who are marketing on Facebook.
• You can build brand loyalty, if you are an active user and responsive and your followers can see it’s likely that they’ll want to do business with you, it will also make them be loyal to you even if you make mistakes, help you get through them.
• A cool feature about Facebook is that you can spy on your competitors… what I mean by this is you can see how others are doing in your area and how they are growing, if your sneaky you might copy a few tricks that they’ve done to boost their page.
• Facebook allows you to increase your web traffic, if you only like getting engagement on what you post then you are more of an entertainer. By putting links in your posts it will increase web traffic as it will bring in more attention.
Disadvantages of Facebook
• One major disadvantage of Facebook is getting addicted… addictive people constantly post photos, update status, this is because they feel like they are missing out if they are not always logged in. It’s a dangerous habit as study shows these people won’t even know if they are addicted.
• The site is an easy target foe malware, when Facebook accounts are taken over by a virus or malware automatically it will post links and status updates to fool other users. It’s like a chain as well because if you press on the link, your own account can end up being compromised. You should avoid clicking on Facebook links that want to show shocking content or videos that require you to install and update to view.
• If you are careful about your privacy settings and accepting stranger friend requests, it is possible for your personal information to end up in wrong places… also hackers can use that information to gain access to other online accounts, this is identity theft. #
• Sites just like Facebook have a worldwide of raging ages using the site, including teens. A lot of teens can end up being a targets or victims for cyber bullying, and 88% have witnessed being mean towards others. Because Facebook allows you to upload photos of themselves and can be liked and seen by friends, but if a certain like target is not met that the teen wanted it can lower their self-esteem. Many users are likely to get into arguments as they are not face to face…
